About Us

Miller Food Service is a family owned business based in the heart of York City Centre. The company is owned by Sally and Ted Boulton who acquired the business from Pam and David Miller seven years ago. Ted has plenty of experience having been in the food industry for over forty years.

Since the acquisition of the business in 2001, steady expansion has occurred with the turnover growing from £1.6 million to more than £4.5 million and the company relocating from Heslington Road to a purpose built 700 pallet cold store on Hospital Fields Road. This depot also has a chilled unit and a factory employing 5 staff preparing fresh vegetables on a daily basis, to the requirements of our customers. The factory offers full traceability and receives fresh vegetables on a daily basis, which are prepared, sliced etc, packed and delivered to our customers the next working day.

Delivery of our extensive range is achieved via a fleet of eleven Multi temperature vehicles, which allows delivery to our customers at least 3 times per week and covers mainly areas within the Yorkshire Region. However due to contractual commitments we go as far North as Newcastle and as far South as Spalding. Our 800 strong customer base includes public houses, hotels, restaurants, nursing homes, golf clubs, universities and hospitals.

In 2006 Miller Food Service decided, that in order to remain competitive within the food industry the ability to offer a one stop shop to the caterer would be essential. This resulted in the opening of a new dry goods warehouse on James Street, York. This venue is now a year old and is proving to be a success.

In the near future Miller Food Service aims to focus on growing business within Yorkshire, offering our current customers competitive promotions and local produce. We will forever aim to improve our service, prices and quality!
